PRIVACY POLICY

Privacy is a top priority for Jessie Johnson Communications, LLC (the “Site”). Here’s a breakdown of the kind of information we receive and collect when you visit the site, how we use it, and how we make sure it (and you!) are protected. The Site will never sell any of your information to third parties. If you have any questions, shoot us an email! We aim to be as transparent as possible and are committed to helping build a safer, more transparent, better internet.

Our Use of Cookies

A cookie is a file containing an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that is sent by a web server to a web browser and is stored by the browser. The identifier is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. Cookies may be either “persistent” cookies or “session” cookies: a persistent cookie will be stored by a web browser and will remain valid until its set expiry date, unless deleted by the user before the expiry date; a session cookie, on the other hand, will expire at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed.  Cookies do not typically contain any information that personally identifies a user, but personal information that we store about you may be linked to the information stored in and obtained from cookies.

We use cookies for the following purposes:

(a) Advertising – we use cookies to help us display advertisements that will be relevant to you; and

(b) Analysis – we use cookies to help us analyze the use and performance of our website and services in order to create a better and more enjoyable user experience.

We use Google Analytics to analyze the use of our website. Google Analytics gathers information about website use by means of cookies. The information gathered relating to our website is used to create reports about the use of our website. Google’s privacy policy is available at: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Information collected may include but is not limited to your IP address, ISP , browser type, device type (iPhone, PC, etc.) and country of origin. Any IP addresses collected with Google Analytics are anonymized, which means the last set of numbers is removed from any stored data so that you can’t be identified.

You can choose to prevent Google Analytics from collecting and using your data by visiting https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/. You can also opt out of cookies using the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page at http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ or learn more about cookies at http://www.aboutcookies.org.

Most browsers allow you to refuse to accept cookies and to delete cookies. The methods for doing so vary from browser to browser, and from version to version. You can however obtain up-to-date information about blocking and deleting cookies via these links:

DISCLOSURE

This Site abides by word of mouth marketing standards. We believe in honesty of relationship, opinion and identity. The compensation received may influence the advertising content, topics or posts made in this blog. That content, advertising space or post will be clearly identified as paid or sponsored content.

The Site is not compensated to provide opinion on products, services, websites and various other topics. The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely the blog owners. If we claim or appear to be experts on a certain topic or product or service area, we will only endorse products or services that we believe, based on our expertise, are worthy of such endorsement. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer or provider.

This blog does contain content which might present a conflict of interest. This content will always be identified.

As you use the Site, we could collect other data that you provide voluntarily (such as comments that you post).

We may also collect information that you provide voluntarily through other methods, including research surveys, social media platforms, verification services, data services, and public sources. We may use your personally-identifying information for a variety of our internal business purposes, such as creating a better user experience for the Site, diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions on the Site, better understanding how the Site is used, and making personalized recommendations to you.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the Site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. This information is not shared or sold, and if you provide an email when you submit a comment you will NOT be automatically added to any email lists.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

LOG FILES

As with most other websites, we make use of log files. The information in the log files includes your IP (internet protocol) address, your internet service provider, browser type, time and date stamp, and your interaction with the site (such as page views, exit pages, and number of clicks). We also gather demographic information for analytics purposes, but IP addresses and associated information are not linked to any personal identifiers.

The Site also uses a software called Hotjar to collect information about how users move through our site. This information is used exclusively to improve your user experience, and can include your anonymized IP address (which means they remove the last octet of numbers from your IP address so that you can’t be identified), screen size, device type, browser type, and country of origin. Data collected may also include referring website, page visits, date/time stamps, and language preferences. More information about Hotjar can be found in the Hotjar Privacy Policy. If you would like to opt-out of letting Hotjar collect your information, click here. You can read more about Hotjar’s commitment to privacy and the steps they take to anonymize your data here.

For more information on the practices and policies of our third-party ad servers, as well as opt-out instructions, you should consult their respective privacy policies. Site’s privacy policy does not apply to, and we cannot control the activities of, such other advertisers or web sites.

How Long We Retain Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. Analytics data is also held indefinitely, but all IP Addresses collected through Google Analytics and/or Hotjar are anonymized and not personally identifiable.

By using this Site, you consent to the use of such cookies and the sharing of data captured by such cookies with Google and our other third party partners. You can view, delete or add interest categories associated with your browser by visiting: https://adssettings.google.com. You can also opt out of the network cookie using those settings or using the Network Advertising Initiative’s multi-cookie opt-out mechanism at: http://optout.networkadvertising.org. However, these opt-out mechanisms themselves use cookies, and if you clear the cookies from your browser your opt-out will not be maintained.

Email Addresses

We may collect your email address, but only if you voluntarily provide it to us. This may occur, for example, if you sign up to receive an email newsletter, or enter a promotion.  We will use your email address for the purposes for which you provided it to us, and also from time to time to send you emails regarding the Site or other products or services that we believe may be of interest to you.  You may opt out of such email communications at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” button in the email. We will not share your email address with any third parties. If you are a resident of a country in the European Economic Area (EEA), please refer to the section below entitled “Additional Rights of EEA Residents.”
